Rockland Recovery Homes was established in February of 2018 with the mission to support persons in recovery by improving their access to safe, stable residences with peer and community support.  This is a vital part of the process for recovery from substance use disorders. Recovery homes are needed to ensure a successful recovery.

The first recovery home, called Spring House, opened in July of 2019 and proved to be very beneficial to the 8 residents. They took great care of the home and property and expressed pride in their home and gratitude for this opportunity.

The men in this home moved to a larger house, that RRH purchased on 12/16/2020. This will enable us to expand our services. This 1937 residence needs funds to convert to gas heating, replace the old doors and windows to make it energy efficient and repair the AC system.

In addition, we will also acquire a residence owned by the NY Office of Development Disabilities, made possible with the support of local legislators and senators. With adequate funds, we will renovate and open this home in the 4th quarter of 2021. It will be named Paul’s Place, as this was the home that he wanted to start RRH with. This will be the first recovery home for women in Rockland County.

Rockland Recovery Homes is a community organization that needs community support to succeed. Please share this with friends and family.

Your continued donations will enable RRH to succeed in this urgent need to reduce the current death rate for this terrible disease and return residents to their communities as productive, citizens.       Thank you!

Supporting Paul Clement’s Legacy of Helping Others

June 7, 2018 by helpdesk1

My son Paul was passionately working with me on plans for the first recovery home for Rockland Recovery Homes, Inc., a non-profit organization recently established with the mission to support persons in recovery from a substance use disorder, by improving their access to safe, stable residences, along with  peer and community support. As Paul and our family have experienced first-hand, for those suffering from this disease, support of this nature is greatly lacking and is desperately needed so that lives may be saved and so other families can avoid this heartbreak.

Paul died March 17th. With the support of the community, his family hopes to dedicate and name the first Rockland Recovery residence “Paul’s Place”.

The State of Group Benefits 2018

May 30, 2018 by helpdesk1

Food, shelter and clothing are the three basic necessities for all human beings. For those individuals healing from active substance use, the lack of stable alcohol and drug-free living environments can make it difficult for them to build and sustain their recovery. Unsafe or risky living spaces can derail the recovery process for even the most determined person who wishes to become abstinent or reduce harm.

Dear State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Director:

Last month your agency received the first installment of the new Opioid State Targeted Response (Opioid STR) grant funding. As you fine-tune your strategic plan for these funds, we ask that you invest some of these funds to develop an ongoing infrastructure that allows recovery housing to be available as an essential resource for helping individuals achieve long-term recovery.

Recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs is defined as a dynamic change process through which
individuals improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and strive to reach their full potential. In other words, recovery is not solely based on abstinence from using drugs and alcohol, but involves improved functioning across all sectors of person’s life such as work, physical health, and relationships with friends and family.
